Leaking Pipe Fix

Step 1

If you are suffering from a leaking pipe make sure you determine exactly where the leak is and that there are not multiple leaks. You then need to locate the shut-off valve for the section of pipe that is failing and Turn it off. To reduce pressure and remove water from the lines open a faucet in the section of pipe that has a leak.

Step 2

You then can call the Plumbing Pro. We will send someone out to look at the leaking pipe. We will give you a free estimate and if you like the price we can do the work.  We will cut out the defective section quickly.

Step 3

We will then let all pipes drain completely and then de-burr the ends of the pipe and make them shiny copper color preparing the piping for the next step.

Step 4

In most cases, The Plumbing Pro technician will Install a copper coupler on each cut end by spreading soldering flux on the end of the pipe and on the inside of one port of the coupler and sliding the coupler onto the pipe. We will then heat the joint and touch a coil of lead-free solder and fill the joint.

Step 5

We will then cut the pipes and fittings necessary to reassemble the pipe. Dry fitting them together to make sure that are exactly what is needed. Our technician will spread flux onto the assembly joints and solder them together.

Step 6

Finally, after the soldering is ready, we will turn on the water and check for any issues. After we are sure you plumbing is in good working order, we will say “Good-bye and Thanks for using The Plumbing Pro!

PVC pipes will be handled in much the same way accept with the tools necessary for that type of work.
